TESDA Computer System Servicing (CSS) Pre-Assessment Practice

Updates that are set to run without any user intervention are described as fully automatic. When updates are configured this way, the system automatically checks for, downloads, and installs the latest version in the background, often handling restarts as needed. This keeps the machine up to date with minimal admin effort.

Automatic updates can sometimes download and prepare updates but still require prompts or actions to install or restart. Manual updates require you to start the process yourself. Windows Update is the service that handles updates, but it doesn’t by itself specify that everything runs automatically without intervention.

So the term that best fits “downloads and installs the latest version” without user action is fully automatic.
